The Intangible Heritage Network

This network's website is dedicated to the involvement of non-governmental organizations and civil society in topics related with the intangible cultural heritage. The network's founders feel that "the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage represents an important achievement concerning the recognition and advancement of cultural rights. Moreover, it has involved State Parties undersigning it in a consistent exercise towards the identification and study of their intangible cultural heritage."

Dear friends,
thank you for having highlighted our network on your blog.
We believe that cultural heritage is a universal richness to be shared as much as possible. For this reason we are very eager in establishing links and networking with others similar experiences.
We are in the process of starting next October the first traditional harp school in Viggiano, where this tradition was very strong since the last century and has presently been lost.
This initiative is implemented by the civil society through our network in collaboration with the Conservatoire of Sidi bu Said in Tunisia.
We strongly hope that this contact can contribute towards an enriching exchange of experience between our network and yours.
Cheers

Thank you for your comment.

We too are strong supporters of the preservation and enrichment of cultural heritage.

Good luck with your harp school. As a good Irish American, I am especially fond of the harp.

We too hope this contact can contribute to an exchange as you suggest.
